Jan Helsing was established in 2012. The core of the band consists of musicians, who started mutual musicianship in the middle of 1990s. The first LP „Kajalood“ was released in 2014. The record was made with the participation of several singers, one of them, Kristi Kindel, former singer of the well-known Estonian indiegroup Dallas, became a constant member after the release of the band’s debut.
